White sage is a Sacred Indigenous flowering perennial native to the Southwestern United States. Its tall, woody stems and tiny white flowers thrive on dry, arid slopes with ample sunlight, and the plant flourishes in the rocky heights of canyon country in Southern California and Baja California, on the western edges of the Mojave and Sonoran deserts.
Long used by the Indigenous cultures of North America as a cleansing smudge for purification and prayer. Unfortunately, overharvesting and drought in the wild are a problem due to its growing popularity. Our White Sage is sustainable option grown for us in Pemberton at Root Down Organic Farm. Pollinators like bumblebees, hawk moths and wasps pollinate white sage, and hummingbirds also appear to like the plant as well.
Our Smudge Tea is blended with our White Sage along with other Sacred Medicinals. We are releasing a limited amount or our White Sage for your cleansing rituals.
