Passionflower is renowed for it's ability to untwine stressful circular patterns of thinking that cause some insomnia. Scientists believe passionflower works by increasing levels of a chemical called gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain. GABA lowers the activity of some brain cells, making you feel more relaxed. Skullcap is a century old comforting nerve tonic and relaxant that eases tension & helps with exhaustion. Valerian root has been used since second century AD for insomnia, anxiety and restlessness and acts much like passionflower does with GABA. Sweet Dreams.
